55I have always wanted a husky and a good friend of mine mentioned I should look into adopting one of these sweet babies. After some research, I found Texas Husky Rescue. I reached out to them and they helped me along the way to adopting my very own Husky! They took great care of us and made sure we were a perfect match! My husky's name is Holo (fka Natasha) and she is a piebald pattern sweetheart!
55Texas Husky Rescue is so deserving of additional help for all the good work they do for animals!

Texas Husky Rescue, Inc. was created in May 2009 as a non-profit 501(c)3 animal rescue organization that is run entirely by volunteers and does not have a paid staff or a shelter. Texas Husky Rescue, Inc relies solely on volunteer foster families to take huskies into their homes until permanent, qualified, and loving homes can be found. Texas Husky Rescue, Inc. is a responsible animal adoption agency and ensures that none of our dogs will ever contribute to the overpopulation of dogs in our community. The work of Texas Husky Rescue, Inc. is supported by tax-deductible contributions by individuals, corporations, and grants. Our initial goal when we began in 2009 was to save 30 huskies from area shelters. We have rescued over 2,500 and counting.

55We adopted our dog Rocket - FKA Wyatt - from friends for life mid-covid and loved the experience. We were originally thinking about another dog at their shelter and FFL was honest about some.of the challenges we might have with that dog and ended up decided it was best with another family. I appreciated their commitment to finding the best home for each dog. We had the 7 day "trial" period with our now dog and really appreciated having that time to make sure he would work with our family. On the first day of the trial we noticed our dog had an infected cyst on his neck and FFL was quick to help us get it taken care of. Couldn't have asked for a better experience or dog to have joined our family.
55They had a plan in place to help animals stay with their people at our big convention center after Hurricane Harvey hit Houston. People lost their homes in flooding but were able to save, stay with, and keep their pets safe during the natural disaster and during the following weeks. They also have a pet food bank and help the community with vaccines for their pets.

55Regardless of their intake volume, Fort Worth Animal Care and Control does not let that stop them from going above and beyond for every animal in their care. These measures range from placing dogs into foster homes or with rescues, sending animals on transports out of state or even connecting dog owners with appropriate resources to allow them to keep their pet.
55Many people think of municipal shelters as being quite grim with a high kill rate, but FWACC goes against every stereotype and works hard to make sure healthy animals all go to good homes. I have adopted my dog from them as well as volunteered with them in the past and the people of FWACC are so dedicated and caring for every animal in their care, partnering with community rescues both within the metroplex and state, and even across the country to transport animals to find home if necessary. Everyone from the front desk staff up to the top are so kind and helpful when you go in. They also do a lot of work to help people get access to vet care and pet food so they may not have to surrender pets due to financial hardship. Overall, just a great civic organization

55I started the animal programs at the local fire department and Donna’s Love has been part of it all from the beginning. This amazing organization has helped find fosters, adoptive families and medical care for lost animals in our community. They help promote our first in the area microchip program at Fire Stations and our free pet vaccination and microchip clinics. Every firefighter knows their passion for the animals. When a box of puppies was dumped at a fire station, Donna’s Love stepped up immediately and that’s just one example. They are an amazing resource for animals and for the Sprimg community. We are blessed to have them as part of our crew!
55Donnas Love Rescue is rescuing dogs from the mean and overcrowded streets of Houston every day. Teresa is a tireless worker and is always working 24/7 to find fosterers, making sure foster puppies get their food, vaccinations and spay or neuter appointments.

Our charitable, tax-exempt mission is to save as many lives as possible by giving homeless and lost animals a warm and special touch to show them that they are loved so they can trust again and return that love. I served in the military (Navy) from 1989–1993. My passion in life has always been to work with and care for animals. I have 7 dogs of my own (Palen, Rocsco, BK, Chico, Beau, Star and Annie). All of my dogs, except Palen, were found and taken in by my facility, The Dog House Pet Salon. If I could take every rescue home with me, I would. We have taken in over 290 homeless and lost animals since we opened our doors for business at The Dog house Pet Salon in 2009. We have re-homed 289 of them. Dash has been with us for one year. Dash needs a little more training to become confident and trust humans again. If I cannot re-home one of my loved ones, they will stay with me and live a good life. We believe that every lost animal with a microchip, rabies id/vet tag number or a name tag should be able to be identified and the parents contacted in a matter of seconds. We created the innovative My Pet Credentials mobile app for that very reason – an easy to use digital platform to empower the parents of lost pets with a means to find their lost pet quickly and efficiently without the need of calling, faxing or emailing. Pet owners, pet salons, rescue shelters and veterinarians can download the MPC app or register at www.mypetcredentials.com. The cost to pet owners is $16.99 annually. The platform is free for pet salons, rescue shelters and veterinarians. I am most proud of the lost and found function that is part of the MPC pet service platform. Pet owners enter the microchip number or rabies id/vet tag number in their pet’s profile. If someone finds the pet, they can use the MPC mobile app or go to www.mpclost.com to identify the lost pet by entering any one of three tracking numbers. The MPC platform will immediately display: • A picture of the pet (front, left and right Image) • The pet’s name, age, gender, breed, color and markings • The pet’s most current vaccinations • A button to contact the owner who will receive a text, email and mobile app notification with the good Samaritan’s name, phone number, email and message When someone finds a pet, MPC’s lost and found function assists in reuniting the lost pet with their family, quickly and efficiently, by giving the Samaritan the ability to enter the lost pet’s name, age, gender, breed, color and any markings along with any microchip, rabies id or vet tag number (tracking numbers) and upload an image of the lost pet. Once the tracking information has been entered by the Samaritan the family of the lost pet will be able to go to our universal lost and found website, www.mpclost.com, to input their pet’s tracking information and our platform will display to the family an image of their pet, the pet’s name as reported by the good Samaritan, age, gender, breed, color and any markings and the name, address and phone number where the pet can be reunited with their family. This innovative process reunites lost pets found with a microchip or rabies id or vet tag number with their families quickly and efficiently by eliminating the need to post lost and found flyers or waste time calling animal shelters, city pounds or veterinarians to locate their lost pet. I could go on about all the features of the MPC platform such as transfer of ownership, vaccination records storage, vaccination reminders and scheduling appointments with your pet salon. We created Donna’s Love Pet Rescue for people who want to help end homelessness for animals and provide an easy to use digital platform to help identify pets, contact owners of lost pets quickly and efficiently and allow owners of lost pets with a microchip or rabies id or vet tag number to be registered with MPC for a quick and joyous reunion! The donation we receive from you helps with. Vetting Food Training Fostering Transportation Spay and neuter Our goal is also to educate the community on the importance of spay and neutering, having dogs vetted and properly trained and provided with appropriate identification markers. 55My daughter and I volunteered at HSNT for 6 years. The shelter keeps the animals until they are adopted The staff are responsible and caring. The facility is clean and well maintained. They do everything trying to create a good environment for the animals there when they were waiting to be adopted. We were happy every time when we saw dogs/cats got adopted. We had a wonderful memories volunteering there. I ended up adopting a dog from there and one of the best things I am glad I did..
55They have a robust staff and clinic to support you through your entire fostering journey. And also are there for support when you foster-fail and adopt. My best boy is adopted from HSNT!

55They really care about the dogs in their care and try their best to find the great homes.
55Two years ago the end of this month my Rowdy popped up on my Facebook feed as having less than 24hrs before they were going to put him down. By the time I got permission it was 2hrs. The problem was we were in Houston at my granddaughters birthday and the shelter was 3hrs away in San Antonio. When I finally got ahold of someone at the shelter they were not willing to give him and me 24hrs. It was a Sunday. So I sent out requests for help to the rescues I've donated to or helped in the past. They got ahold of rescues and advocates that work the area. I don't know who but one called me saying here's the shelter director's name and number and she was expecting my call. Long story short, Texas Sled Dog Rescue was one of those rescues. I was there when they opened the doors Monday and here we are two years later.

Our volunteers are involved in all facets of rescue including but not limited to fundraising, transporting, evaluating dogs, respresenting the rescue at local dog events, fostering, etc.

While we are not funded by the city, the county, or any national humane organizations, the Humane Society of New Braunfels, a 501c3 non-profit, contracts with the City of New Braunfels and Comal County to house stray animals brought in by their Animal Control Divisions. We also accept stray pets brought in by citizens and if space allows, pets whose owners can no longer care for them. A small portion of our operating budget comes from the city and country contracts. We handle approximately 4,000 animals a year and at any given time care for approximately 100 cats and 100 dogs. The revenue we collect from our contracts covers approximately three days of care per animal and their intake vaccinations. If the animal stays longer, or needs any veterinary care, we rely on donations and adoption fees to cover those costs.
