55I have adopted 5 times from Adopt a Golden Atlanta. They are very thorough and thoughtful in their adoption and matching process. They offer the best care to their dogs. The fosters are loving and really provide wonderful homes for these rescue dogs. Everyone goes to great lengths to make sure that all of the dogs get taken care of and find the right homes. I am always happy to recommend AGA!!!
55Adopt A Golden Atlanta is a very hands on rescue. They are invested in both their rescues and the fosters and volunteers who work with the pups and each other to help our rescues find their forever home. Their follow thru after the adoption is fantastic - and the doors are always open for adopters to reach out for any help or resources that they feel they may need, hereby ensuring that the placement of the pup is comfortable for all parties concerned. The success of AGA is reflected in the number of returning adopters - to add to their furry family or to, when comfortable, to bring another furry baby into their fold after the loss of another. The extended AGA community speaks volumes for the quality and integrity of the organization!!

Atlanta

Adopt a Golden Atlanta [AGA] is a volunteer, nonprofit organization dedicated to finding warm, loving permanent homes for Golden Retrievers [both purebred and high golden mixes] in order to prevent them from becoming strays or adding to the shelter overpopulation. If a non-golden is best friends with a golden who is surrendered to us, non golden will not be left behind and will accompany the golden into our program and placed with the golden to live together in their new home. Golden Retrievers, regardless of medical needs or age, will receive comprehensive evaluation, spay/neutering services, veterinary care, behavioral training if required, and safe passage into a permanent loving home. In addition to providing those services, Adopt a Golden Atlanta is intent on treating dog owners who are faced with surrendering their dogs with the utmost respect, understanding and compassion. It is also our obligation to educate and assist the metropolitan Atlanta general public, and dog owners specifically, regarding issues such as responsible pet ownership, spay/neutering, obedience training, and veterinary/specialists referrals. Our goal is to reduce the number of Golden Retrievers sent to shelters. AGA will never allow a golden to die in a shelter. AGA relies solely on donations and has a 501(c)(3) classification with the IRS. Your donation is tax deductible. We also meet the requirements for corporate matching, employee giving and volunteer grant programs.

55I have adopted 2 dogs from SGER. Heather’s screening process for both the animal and the adopter insures that it is a good match for all involved. Both of the dogs that I adopted were healthy and perfectly additions to our family. Without Heather and SGER, so many lives wouldn’t be saved and my family, only one of many, would be incomplete.
55Heather Gavitt has taken in so many dogs that were starving and they have flourished under her care. I live vicariously through her. She is dedicated 24/7 365 days a week to the dogs and horses in her care as well as the dogs in her community. She has organized please giveaways for people needing food for their dogs and spent countless hours chasing down dogs that have been thrown out and trapping them and bringing them into rescue. I can't say enough good about Heather. She is deserving of every bit of help that she can get.

55I am so grateful for the love, care and dedication that Julie gives every single one of her sweet dogs that come into her care. She puts her whole heart and soul into a rescuing, these innocent babies, and literally loving them back to life until they can, go live with their forever families. Julie is amazing! I thank the Lord for people like this angel on earth. We love our Emma so much and we’re so grateful for how Julie cared for her in such a tragic time inEmma’s life. Emma will be loved forever! !Lucky rescue Ranch is the best!
55Writing from Ontario Canada... I was fortunate to be introduced to Lucky Dog Rescue Ranch when I volunteered with a rescue here in Ontario ... Julie is such a force how she advocates for and rehabs so many special pups that were completely let down by humans...she has a way with people and dogs so just what is needed to educate and save lives. Through LDRR I now have 3 Georgia babes who are the loves of my life... I will be forever grateful to Julie and the volunteers for their dedication to helping so many lost and forgotten dogs make their way to loving families 🙏

55I follow this shelter and I recommend it often. I love that they treat animals with love and kindness. I will support them always.
55North GA Animal Alliance is a small group of people who operate like an army- their passion for helping animals and generosity is unlike any group I’ve encountered. Not only do I help foster in the spring/summer but I also have 4 rescue cats who now are part of my family. They are the luckiest cats and have an amazing life. We tell them all the time- it we are truly the lucky ones. Without NGAA, this community would be overwhelmed by the cat population. We not only take pride in our system of fostering, caring and adopting out these kittens/cats, but we also educate the community on how they can help control the population as well. It’s a great organization and I know most of the unsung heroes who are doing the heavy lifting are fatigued. I hope that they know how valuable and appreciated they are and continue to fight the good fight. I pray that Foster’s continue to volunteer their time, talents and money to open their homes to the animals in need. Sometimes a little validation an go a long way and you can help with that. God bless!

Human Animal Support Services (HASS) is a new national coalition of shelters. They are reimagining sheltering by promoting community involvement and helping people and pets stay together. Our ultimate goal is to reduce the number of animals who unnecessarily enter the shelter by refocusing efforts, resources and support to offer community-based solutions. As the COVID-19 pandemic progressed, LifeLine Animal Project, like many other shelters, was supported by animal lovers who fostered pets, adopted, helped lost or found animals get back to their homes. This support gave animal welfare organizations the opportunity to collaborate with our communities in new ways and has allowed us to create a better model of animal services.

Thousand Oaks, California has been a safe haven for Sniffspot host, Jen, since childhood. Having grown up in busy Santa Barbara, Jen, an introvert from an early age, would seek out solitude and serenity away from tourists attractions and droves of people visiting from elsewhere. “My grandparents own 60 acres about a 30 minute drive from here, and I grew up spending every summer and every holiday visiting them on the ranch,” Jen explained. “In Santa Barbara, we wouldn't go to the beach on the weekend because that's where everybody was, so you'd find places off the beaten path where the tourists weren't. For me, the ranch was just my happy place.”

Dalis To The Rescue

At our rescue, we are not only dedicated to matching our dogs with the perfect home, we are also dedicated to educating our community about the benefits of spaying and neutering as Dalis herself raised the funds to build a surgical room at our rescue where we host low cost spay and neuter clinics for the public. We are not exclusive to one area or county, in fact many people use our services from all over the state of Michigan and even some out of state including Wisconsin, Ohio, and Indiana. Dalis’ heart belongs to the misunderstood, the old, and the disabled. She always says that her goal is to rescue, but that her dream is that one day she won’t have to.
