They have grown but never lost their love and desire to find just the right home for each and every rescue by careful screening of adopters and providing loving, clean temporary quarters.

One of A Kind Pet Rescue is a non-profit organization founded in November 2005 and is funded by private donations. The organization is dedicated to saving animal lives, rescuing pets in imminent danger of euthanasia, spaying/neutering and adoption of homeless animals into appropriate, loving homes. We are a no-time-limit shelter, and no adoptable animal is euthanized. Many of our animals come from Animal Control Facilities (the pound) just prior to their scheduled euthanasia. Sick or injured animals brought to us by Good Samaritans are often given priority. Owner surrenders and strays are accepted when space is available.

55NorthEast Ohio Collie Rescue has brought so many dogs to a better life. I have witnessed dogs that have never been loved learn to be loved and how to love, and I have seen dogs who were loved by owners who died/surrendered them and had to learn a whole new life. NEOCR does an amazing job with each and every collie. I have heard from so many people who have adopted these collies that the rescue does a fantastic job and the dogs are doing well. Some of these dogs have had major challenges, especially the ones we brought from the Illinois hoarding situation who were fearful of humans and being indoors. God bless all the collies that come through their rescue; God bless all animals that need assistance. I have been working with this rescue for several years. Lots of challenges, lots of good results!
55Northeast Collie Association of Ohio is the best place ever! We have rescued 4 Collies from them. The work they do to help save the Collies from all situations is extraordinary! 3 of my 4 Collies were abandoned 2 were starved and and the 3 rd one was dumped on the side of the road. They gave these dogs the care they needed to let them have a good life. My husband admire them so much we made them part of our Will! We want to ensure they will always be supported!!

55This rescue was part of the rescue where we got our sweet basset and one of her daughters. I worried about the split but they continue to do wonderful things for their rescues. I follow in case we are ready to adopt or foster another dog.
55We have been supporters of Buckeye Basset Hound Rescue for several years. We have fostered and adopted 6 hounds from this wonderful rescue and experienced their "wrap-around" services when accepting a new dog from them inclusive of medical care (some of the dogs rescued by BBHR required extensive and expensive treatments prior to placements) behavioral assessments and transportation assistance. BBHR has several social events through the year as well as attendance at local and regional adoption "fairs" throughout Ohio to promote the group and to advertise our available Hounds. Wonderful and caring administration of the Rescue group as well as strict impeccable fiscal management of the group make it easy to support.

Thousand Oaks, California has been a safe haven for Sniffspot host, Jen, since childhood. Having grown up in busy Santa Barbara, Jen, an introvert from an early age, would seek out solitude and serenity away from tourists attractions and droves of people visiting from elsewhere. “My grandparents own 60 acres about a 30 minute drive from here, and I grew up spending every summer and every holiday visiting them on the ranch,” Jen explained. “In Santa Barbara, we wouldn't go to the beach on the weekend because that's where everybody was, so you'd find places off the beaten path where the tourists weren't. For me, the ranch was just my happy place.”

Dalis To The Rescue thumbnail

Dalis To The Rescue

At our rescue, we are not only dedicated to matching our dogs with the perfect home, we are also dedicated to educating our community about the benefits of spaying and neutering as Dalis herself raised the funds to build a surgical room at our rescue where we host low cost spay and neuter clinics for the public. We are not exclusive to one area or county, in fact many people use our services from all over the state of Michigan and even some out of state including Wisconsin, Ohio, and Indiana. Dalis’ heart belongs to the misunderstood, the old, and the disabled. She always says that her goal is to rescue, but that her dream is that one day she won’t have to.
